Rick's GMC Installation:
Here is what Rick D. has to say about the 350 he installed onto his 73 GMC Glacier
"That Viair pump is fast and slick. My tank was, of course, dead empty
when I first powered it up to test it. My leveling valves were on lower (I had lowered the coach onto wood blocks over the winter), so
the air only filled the tank. It filled my larger '73 tank to 125 psi in about a minute and a half. The Dana would take 7 or 8 minutes to do
the same (I had rebuilt the Dana last year). I then moved the power-level valves to Travel, and the pump leveled up the coach
(starting with a full tank) in another couple of minutes. I then put the valves on Raise. Last summer, I needed to raise the back end all
the way to level it up at a parking spot in Texas, and the Dana took 15 or 20 minutes (starting with a full tank) to again reach 125
psi.The Viair filled the bags from Travel position to maximum height at 125 psi in about five minutes.
Pictures of his installation.
The Viair 350C has a 100% duty cycle at 100 psi and 72 degrees. It was hot but I could still touch it after running for that 7 or 8 minutes. It uses a remote air intake that I mounted inside the coach.Everything is included in the kit, except a mounting plate which is
special to the GMC. I also had to supply a brass fitting to connect the lead hose to the 1/4" tubing.
This is a good improvement for those whose Dana pumps are sub-par."
